SPRING/SUMMER 2025

Welcome to what is my first newsletter since launching my new website earlier this year!

It has been a busy Winter for me launching a new platform and also trying to get creative in my studio painting lots of new work. Busy busy!! I have also submitted applications for lots of exciting exhibitions and events throughout the year and here is a taster.

First up is the Society of Botanical Artists Plantae Exhibition opening at the Mall Galleries in London on 28th May until 7th June. This is the 40th anniversary year of this wonderful celebration of botanical art from around the world and I am very honoured to have two original artworks selected for the exhibition. Over the last year I have absolutely loved painting two Irises from the collection of cultivars created by the late artist and plantsman, Cedric Morris, at his home, Benton End in Suffolk. These large artworks, painted on gorgeous Fabriano Artistico 640gsm hot pressed paper, will be for sale in the exhibition.

In July I will be in Yorkshire with a Botanical Design stand at the RHS Wentworth Woodhouse Flower Show. Having spent 25 years in Cheshire, the Tatton flower show is going on tour and this year it is Yorkshire's turn. My first time exhibiting with the Royal Horticultural Society was in 2023 in my home county of Cheshire. It was a fabulous celebration of all things plant, flower and garden related and I met some incredible people and had the most inspiring few days. I can't wait to do it all again, although this time on the other side of the Pennine Hills. I will have all kinds of botanical goodies with me, including original artwork, framed and unframed prints, gorgeous linen and velvet timeless botanical pieces, hand poured candles, cards and lots more!

Show dates 16th-20th July. Tickets are available via the RHS website www.rhs.org.uk

At the end of the summer I will be back in Derbyshire for the first time in 3 years for the Wirksworth Art and Architecture Trail on the 13th and 14th September. Save the dates and more info to come in my next newsletter.

That is all for now and I really hope to see some of you at these exhibitions and events over the Spring and Summer. Now we have to cross fingers for some British sunshine!
